GP Ready · GP appointment preparation
Tell us what's happening.
The AI explores the details of your symptoms, asks focused follow-up questions, and prepares an editable report with suggested questions for your GP. You don't need to think of the questions yourself.
Want to save or email your report? Sign in before you start. Otherwise you can still talk to the AI and download a PDF as a guest.
Emergency symptoms — seek help immediately
If you or someone else is experiencing any of these signs of a potentially life-threatening emergency, call 999 now rather than using GP Ready.
- Chest pain or pressure that does not go away, or chest discomfort with breathlessness, sweating or pain spreading to the arm, jaw, back or neck.
- Sudden face drooping, arm weakness, speech difficulty (stroke signs) or new weakness on one side — even if the symptoms have stopped.
- Severe difficulty breathing, gasping, choking, or being unable to speak normally because of breathlessness.
- Sudden swelling of the lips, tongue or throat, especially with trouble breathing or swallowing.
- A headache that comes on suddenly and is extremely painful.
- Collapse or unconsciousness, a first seizure or a seizure that does not stop, major uncontrolled bleeding or serious injury.
- Sudden confusion or difficulty responding, particularly when someone is severely unwell or has signs of infection.
- Blue, pale or blotchy skin, lips or tongue, or a rash that does not fade when pressed — particularly if someone is unwell.
- Immediate danger of serious self-harm, overdose, or being unable to keep yourself or another person safe.
These are examples, not a complete list. Serious illness may occur without any of these signs. This tool cannot confirm that it is safe to wait.
Urgent but not life-threatening? Use NHS 111 online or call 111. NHS 111 can advise what care you need.
If you are unsure whether you need 999, NHS 111 can help; if you believe someone's life is at risk, call 999. Do not delay seeking help to finish a report.
